1️⃣ Before You Travel
✅ Check Your Eligibility: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.
✅ Get Your Umrah Visa: Apply directly via the official Saudi eVisa portal if eligible. Most nationalities can get a tourist eVisa that allows Umrah. Others may need to apply through a registered travel agent.
✅ Book Flights & Accommodation: Stay near Masjid al-Haram in Makkah for convenience. If visiting Madinah, book near Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
✅ Vaccinations: Required vaccines include Meningitis (ACWY). COVID-19 vaccination is recommended.
✅ Pack Smart: Take Ihram clothing (for men), modest attire (for women), a small bag for shoes, prayer essentials, and comfortable sandals.
2️⃣ Arrival & Entering Ihram
✅ Ihram Timing: Enter Ihram before reaching Makkah at a designated Miqat (boundary station). If flying, wear Ihram before passing Miqat (announced on flights).
✅ Make Intention: Say, “Labbayk Allahumma Umrah” (O Allah, I am here for Umrah).
✅ Recite the Talbiyah: Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk… (Here I am, O Allah, responding to Your call). Recite frequently until Tawaf starts.
✅ Ihram Rules: No cutting hair/nails, no perfume, no marital relations, men cannot cover their heads. Women should dress modestly but do not cover their faces with a veil.
3️⃣ Step-by-Step Umrah Rituals
🔹 1. Tawaf (Circling the Kaaba)
➡ Enter Masjid al-Haram, gaze at the Kaaba, and make du’a.
➡ Start Tawaf at the Black Stone corner. If you cannot touch it, raise your hand toward it and say “Bismillah, Allahu Akbar.”
➡ Circle the Kaaba 7 times (counterclockwise). Make du’a while walking.
➡ After 7 rounds, pray two rak’ah near Maqam Ibrahim (or anywhere in the mosque).
➡ Drink Zamzam water after Tawaf.
🔹 2. Sa’i (Walking between Safa & Marwah)
➡ Proceed to Safa and face the Kaaba while making du’a.
➡ Walk 7 times between Safa and Marwah. Jog lightly between the green markers (for men).
➡ Make du’a at Safa and Marwah during each lap.
🔹 3. Halq or Taqsir (Shaving or Trimming Hair)
➡ Men: Shave (Halq) or trim (Taqsir) their hair.
➡ Women: Trim a fingertip-length of hair.
✅ Ihram Ends: Once hair is cut, Ihram restrictions are lifted. Your Umrah is complete!
4️⃣ After Umrah & Other Tips
✅ Perform Extra Prayers: Stay in Masjid al-Haram for additional Tawaf & Salah.
✅ Visit Madinah: While not part of Umrah, visiting the Prophet’s Mosque is highly recommended.
✅ Avoid Crowds & Stay Hydrated: Use early morning or late-night hours for a peaceful Tawaf. Drink plenty of Zamzam water.
✅ Plan Ahead for Departure: If leaving Makkah, many pilgrims perform a Farewell Tawaf (Tawaf al-Wida) before exiting.
